Steely all-rounder

The universal high performance HBP310-403GA mitre band saw is ideal for the demands of the steel construction industry and steel trade, according to Behringer who will be exhibiting at MACH.

The saw cuts steel section and solid metal and plastic materials rapidly and accurately. With a cutting range of 310mm for round materials and 400 x 310mm for flat materials, and bi-lateral mitred cuts from 45° right to 30° left, the machine has proved its worth as a reliable all-rounder for a multitude of cutting tasks.

The saw frame is rigid, low torsion and low vibration with pre-tensioned guides that are free of play. The saw frame, which is set at an angle of 3°, is designed for the cutting of beams, angled and U-shaped section and hollow square section.

The entire saw frame of the mitre cutting unit is mounted on a large sized axial roller bearing, and can be swivelled round rapidly. The pivot is at the intersection of the saw band and the material application edge. The advantage of this is that the measuring reference line does not change.

Fully automatic height adjustment of the saw frame to suit the material height, and lowering of the saw at fast speed settings in automatic operation reduce non-productive time significantly. Combined roller guides and pre-tensioned carbide sliding guides ensure that the saw band runs smoothly during the cutting process.

The saw band is tensioned hydraulically with the saw feed and cutting pressure controlled hydraulically and monitored. At the control terminal, the machine operator is able to read off the current cutting speed at any time and adjust as required.

The use of a micro-dosing system (optional) for high performance cutting and lubricating agents is particularly recommended for cutting pipes and section.

The HBP310-403GA mitre band saw system includes a controlled feed gripper that positions the material to be cut quickly and accurately. It is mounted on a pre-tensioned rail guide that is free of play and is driven by a ballscrew linear drive and motor.

The angle adjustment is NC controlled and is ideal for series cuts with different angle combinations in the mitre ranges specified above (45° right to 30° left). The stable, large sized gripper tool ensures safe transportation of materials. The movable clamping jaw of the gripper can move across the entire cutting range.
