Steve Backley to open MACH

Steve Backley OBE, former javelin record holder and London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer, will be opening this year's MACH 2012.

Mr Backley will officially open the event on Monday April 16th at 1pm. He will be joined by Simon Pollard, president of the MTA and Stephen Pegge, communications director at Lloyds TSB Commercial.

Graham Dewhurst, director general of the MTA, commented: “MACH 2012 will show off what a rich and diverse sector this is and it's fantastic to have someone as high profile as Steve to open the exhibition. Registrations to visit are up by 30% on MACH 2010, with more than 460 exhibitors, from 40 different countries due to attend."
