Precision measurement firm Third Dimension has deepened its technical capabilities and strengthened its customer support resource with the creation of a new application engineering team.

The manufacturers of the GapGun and Vectro handheld and robot-deployed non-contact gauging systems have appointed three specialist engineers to bolster its technical expertise and widen the company’s global reach.

The trio of new recruits will have responsibility for providing pre-sale and post-sale support for Third Dimension customers and will work with distributors to enhance existing technical support.

  • University of Bristol Mechanical Engineering graduate Daniel Sherwood, who will explore new applications for Third Dimension products in liaison with the company’s software and hardware engineers.
  • Chemical Engineering specialist Jake Tivey, who brings expertise from a Master’s degree at Birmingham University and experience of the energy, mining and manufacturing sectors to the role.
