Totally remote

WARDJet has developed a new control system for its waterjet cutting machines that includes a number of advanced features.

These include a double touchscreen control, internet connection for instant automatic updates, built in camera and the option for simultaneous multiple head 5 axis cutting capability. Known as the X-Classic, it is available in the UK from exclusive UK agents Wightman Stewart.

All WARDJet waterjet cutting machines can be upgraded to the full capability of an X-Classic unit. It has a Windows XP Professional operating system interface and is fully networkable. Instant automatic free updates are available to users and there is also easy access to online manuals and the ability to order spare parts directly from the controller. The company says that a unique selling point of the CNC controller is the total remote control which allows access by Wightman Stewart/WARDJet technicians for service and training and can be set-up from anywhere in the world. Wiring to the controller is simple with just one network cable and one power cable.

The 15 inch touchscreen unit can be mounted and operated from either the right or left of the machine. The main touchscreen focuses on monitoring all waterjet cutting and operations whilst the second touchscreen operates CAD/CAM software and provides direct access to the online help. The built in webcam can also play any help/training videos.

An associated PDA wireless pendant is also available for remote control from an office or even home. It communicates via Bluetooth and WiFi with the ability to jog the machine, start and stop parts, as well as providing information on the cutting process such as the amount of time left to cut.
