GF AgieCharmilles has reported that its International Trade Show (ITS) held recently at the company's World Applications Centre (WAC) in Schorndorf, Germany from October 21-29 was a great success with over 150 visitors attending the event. The show, organised for VIP customers, representatives from the international machine tool and manufacturing trade press, and sales staff from GF AgieCharmilles' European sales operations in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the UK, was designed to give attendees an in depth appreciation and unrestricted access to the latest range of new and innovative GF AgieCharmilles machine tools – many of which were first launched at EMO Milan earlier in the month. Said Martin Spencer, managing director of AgieCharmilles: “The ITS event enabled UK customers and prospects alike who were unable to attend EMO, the opportunity to see our new machine tools being put through their paces. “Amongst the machines being showcased were our new 3-, 4- and 5-axis Laser Ablation machines; our new Mikron high speed 3- and 5-axis linear motor machining centres and our advanced, high performance EDM wire and spark erosion machines, including the Cut 1000 and Form 1000 models.” As well as being able see the new machine tools in action via practical machining demonstrations, ITS attendees were also able to speak directly to GF AgieCharmilles' applications and product specialists about the new technologies on show. “Customer reaction to both the ITS event and to the new machine tools we presented at the show has been extremely positive and very encouraging. From a UK perspective the ITS event has also been useful in helping us confirm what our machine tool line up will be at Mach 2010,” Mr Spencer concluded. GF AgieCharmilles
