Matsuura capitalised on the recent EMO exhibition in Milan to announce the launch of the latest in the Cublex series ? the large capacity Cublex-63

Following on from two years of beta site testing at a leading Japanese company in an arduous machining environment, Matsuura capitalised on the recent EMO exhibition in Milan to announce the launch of the latest in the Cublex series – the large capacity Cublex-63 – a multi-tasking, multi-pallet 5-axis mill/turn machine.

Offering a maximum work size of 630mm (D) x 450mm (H) with a loading capacity of 350kg, the Cublex-63 has been designed to occupy a small footprint with the twin pallet version being 3m in width by 6.5m in length – including a rear facing coolant and swarf management system.

The machine has been designed from the ground up for true multi-tasking process integration coupled with unmanned running functionality. A patented spindle lock design assures solid performance when either milling or turning and an array of tailored options makes it a versatile machine tool for a variety of applications. For optimal process integration the Cublex-63 can be supplied with grinding capability.

Equipped with a dedicated direct drive motor for the C axis rotary table, which combines high speed and accuracy for milling along with high speed rotation of 1,300rpm for turning, the user also can also select from a range of pallet and toolchanger variants to complement the Matsuura designed and built spindle options. Standard spindle speed is 12,000rpm, HSK-A63W (ICTM standard) equipped with an AC 15/22kW motor.
