HB will be showcasing a range of bespoke bearings designed and manufactured to customer specifications for use in the oil and gas industries. It currently supplies companies ranging from bearing distributors through to leading OEMs engaged in market sectors such as down hole drilling operations, sour gas, offshore power generation and LPG production both in the UK and worldwide.
This high level of activity can be explained by HB Bearings’ ability to supply high quality bespoke bearings, made to the customer’s design and material specifications. Bearings are also manufactured in smaller quantities and in nearly all cases delivery lead-times said to be less that those from major manufacturers.
Recent investment in new CNC machinery includes a Leadwell V-32iF VMC. The V-32iF has advanced controls with fourth axis features. A new SV-2000 Surftest from Mitutoyo for one of the two temperature controlled inspection facilities has also been installed.
HB specialise in the manufacture of bespoke metric and imperial bearings. Standard bearings which are difficult to obtain or hard-to-source are also produced. Special bearings previously supplied by Hoffmann Bearings, RIV Bearings and Ransome & Marles Bearings (R&M) and which are now obsolete, can also be manufactured.
A wide range of specialised materials, including corrosive resistant types such as 440C stainless steel, Ti-M50 tool steel and other exotic alloys such as Cronidur can be used in bearing manufacture.
Bearing types manufactured include: precision radial bearings, deep groove ball, cylindrical roller, angular contact and duplex as well as many other types. Bespoke bearings are manufactured to customer specifications or, HB’s in-house technical design facility will work with the customer to develop unique bearing designs.
Bespoke bearing designs can incorporate specialised features such as flanges, anti-rotation slots, non-standard clearances and clamping holes which can reduce component cost and assembly time. Technical information can be supplied before manufacture.
Delivery lead-times from major manufacturers for standard and hard-to-source bearings can very often be reduced by ordering from HB Bearings. Bearings are manufactured up to 1.5m diameter.
Accessories such as adaptor sleeves and angle rings for bearings are also manufactured by HB. Made with the same care and attention to detail as HB’s bearings, accessories are available in both imperial and metric sizes. Sizes can also be standard or non-standard, and a wide variety of materials can be specified to suit customer requirements.
HB stock many manufactured hard-to-source imperial bearings ready for immediate delivery. Bearing modification is also a speciality.
