Vollmer will be presenting two new machines for the first time at EMO Hannover 2019: The VHybrid 360 grinding and erosion machine and the VGrind 340S grinding machine.

At stand F66 in hall 6, visitors can see the products and services offered as well as taking the opportunity to speak with partners, particularly about the ‘V@dison’ digital initiative that was launched at the beginning of 2019.

At EMO 2019, the highly visible roof with the Vollmer logo will show the way to the Swabian sharpening specialist, which will be presenting sharpening machines for rotary tools and circular saws for the metalworking sector.

The company has allocated a separate area for each business area and aimed for transparency and a clear overview when redesigning the trade fair stand. This year's appearance at the trade fair focuses on two new sharpening machines and the topic of digitalisation.

Sharpening machine for grinding and eroding

The VHybrid 360 grinding and erosion machine launched at EMO will allow for the combined machining of drills, milling cutters or reamers made of carbide and PCD (polycrystalline diamond).

Tool manufacturers can either completely grind or erode blanks using the VHybrid 360, regardless of whether these consist of sintered PCD or soldered-in diamond plates. Multi-level machining via two vertical spindles makes this possible: The upper spindle is reserved for grinding, while the lower one is designed for grinding and eroding.

Producing delicate carbide tools

The VGrind 340S grinding machine, suitable for machining even the smallest carbide tools, will be presented in Hanover for the first time.

Drills and milling cutters with diameters of 0.3 mm or larger, which are in high demand in automotive manufacturing, the electronics industry or medical technology can be sharpened using the VGrind 340S. The Vollmer machine also features two vertical spindles.

Five harmonised CNC axes achieve perfect interpolation with short travel distances for the linear axes and swivel ranges, which in turn reduces the time required to machine workpieces.

Solutions for automation, such as pallet magazines or free-arm robots, ensure that machining can continue unattended around the clock.

At EMO, Vollmer will not only be providing information about its grinding machine, but also about the service packages on offer for maintenance, training and financing.

Another focal point is the V@dison digitalisation initiative. Networked machines enable tool manufacturers to optimise their production processes via IoT platforms. With the four topics of V@ screen, V@ check, V@ boost and V@ guide, Vollmer is covering the entire value-added chain within the digital IoT world.

More than meets the eye

While the humble rumbler is often consigned to a dark corner in a factory and is one of the least likely machines to be replaced until it collapses, there is much more to vibratory finishing than meets the eye, as PDJ Vibro will explain to visitors attending MACH this year.
