World premiere: Kellenberger rolls out new software suits at GrindingHub exhibition

At the GrindingHub exhibition in Stuttgart, Swiss grinding specialist Kellenberger will be presenting an updated software suite across the company’s entire product portfolio – including to the Voumard universal internal cylindrical grinding range.

As Kellenberger 100 and 1000 machines will be shown, along with a Voumard 1000 machine, the many advantages of the advanced new software will be illustrated. The advanced touchscreen HMI software solution can be adapted equally across all series machines and because of its logical and intuitive nature, is easy to use for both internal and external grinding.

The Kellenberger 100 will be shown with a flexible, highly-productive automation solution that was specially developed for this machine allowing rapid changeovers and the efficient production of small batches.

The Kellenberger 1000 hydrostatic universal cylindrical grinding machine is orientated towards the high demands of the precise production of prototypes, as well as small and medium series production, in for example, tool and mould making, the automotive and electrical sectors and the aircraft industry.

With the ability to machine components of up to 300kg, a solid machine table and reinforced machine bed provides high rigidity and stability, prerequisites for high precision grinding. Full flexibility is assured as more than 30 different grinding head variants are possible, including external and internal grinding spindles as well as optional centre heights of 250 and 300mm and 1,000/1,600mm between centres.

The Voumard 1000 internal and external cylindrical grinding machine was designed to accommodate precision workpieces with a length and swing circle diameters of 300mm.       The machine’s hydrostatic linear axes with newly developed Hydrolin guides are backlash-free for precise positioning measured in the nano range. Additionally, the two high-precision hydrostatic B-axes carry out all necessary movements of the machine’s dressing and measuring devices.

The Voumard 1000’s level of flexibility makes grinding a wide range of different component types possible and shortens set-up times. The machine’s spindle turret on the B1-axis is equipped with a compact grinding spindle head with a flexible internal grinding spindle arrangement for a maximum of four grinding spindles.

Kellenberger and Voumard are represented in the UK by DF Precision Machinery.
