XYZ Machine Tools has made changes to its sales team with new appointments of Josh Adams and Lee Wilkinson along with a change of role for John Aspinall. These changes will strengthen XYZ’s area sales management team for direct industry sales, while extending sales to the education sector.

The most recent appointment is Josh Adams who will take on the area sales manager role covering Leicestershire, Oxfordshire and Coventry. He brings his knowledge as a toolmaker and extensive experience in sales within the cutting tool and workholding sector.

He commented: “From my toolroom days I always wanted to be involved in sales and I see machine tools as the pinnacle. The opportunity to join XYZ, with my familiarity with their products, was one I couldn’t pass up. The people and processes here just give me a good feeling about the future.”

The second appointment is that of Lee Wilkinson, who with unfortunate timing joined XYZ Machine Tools just as lockdown started, so while he has been employed for a while, his activity has been curtailed by circumstances.

With restrictions hopefully being reduced he is now keen to develop sales within the south east of England covering parts of Bedfordshire, Essex, London, Surrey and Kent. With an engineering background and extensive experience in sales of high-quality tooling, workholding and machine tools, Mr Wilkinson is looking forward to getting face-to-face with customers.

“What really excites me about XYZ is the hands-on opportunity to take an order from enquiry right through to delivering demonstrations and training for customers,” he enthused. “While my start has been unusual, the package of support offered by XYZ for customers has been excellent and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

The final addition to the area sales manager team sees John Aspinall move from education sales, where he has focused his attention for the past six years, to a direct industry sales role covering South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and into the Walsall and Telford postcode areas.

“The switch from education to industrial sales is something that has attracted me for some time – it will bring new challenges such as the need to maximise production and an emphasis on component level problem solving, while working with strict budgets,” Mr Aspinall explained. “My six years of knowledge of the XYZ machine range will be a major factor in ensuring customers get the right machine for the job.”

Customers within the education sector will now receive sales support from individual area sales managers, rather than on the national basis as before with John Aspinall. This will see these clients benefitting from local support for their requirements and enable XYZ to be more proactive in support of education establishments.
