Zeiss completes acquisition of GOM Metrology

The Zeiss acquisition of GOM Metrology, which began in 2019, has officially concluded for the UK and Ireland as of 1st October.

Carl Zeiss acquired all assets and liabilities, incorporating the GOM UK business and team into their organisation.

Kevin Hawley, head of optical systems and former director at GOM UK said: “We are in an amazing position, combining the expert teams from GOM and Zeiss in the UK to create a new UK customer focussed organisation, supporting the best in class tactile and optical technology portfolio.”

The addition of the GOM software, machines and systems for industrial, and automated 3D coordinate measuring technology and 3D testing, complements the existing Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions offering.

Darren Talbot, head of industrial quality solutions added: “Zeiss UK & Ireland now has an unparalleled product and software offering, catering to all applications across many industry segments. The Zeiss portfolio will remove the need for customers to consider complex and multiple partners, instead an integrated solution can be delivered by Zeiss.”
