Accurate Laser Cutting has celebrated recent investment in the UK’s first 10kW fibre laser by hosting its first ever open house.

In collaboration with machinery manufacturer Bystronic, the firm debuted its state-of-the-art ByStar 3m by 1.5m fibre cutting system to visitors across the two-day event.

As part of the celebrations, visitors were able to access Accurate’s newly refurbished 14,000ft² manufacturing facility in Oldbury, West Midlands. Through a series of live demonstrations, attendees could witness the new machine’s blistering 60m/minute processing speeds first hand, along with its ability to cut sheet metal up to 30mm thick.

“We are proud to take possession of the UK’s first 10kW fibre laser and welcomed the opportunity to showcase our new and improved processing capabilities to our customers,” commented company director Steve Morgan.

“One of our core priorities has always been to invest in the very latest production technologies. The idea of the open house was to demonstrate our commitment to delivering the highest quality service to our customers,” he continued.

The company offers 24/7 production capacity and is set to benefit significantly as a result of the new technology: “As we pride ourselves on our ability to offer a fast order turnaround, our fibre lasers provide us with the speed and flexibility to react quickly and efficiently to changing customer demands,” explained fellow director Jon Till. “With fast processing speeds, reduced operational costs and greater efficiencies overall, the transition from CO2 to fibre laser cutting is a no-brainer for our business.”

The latest £700,000 investment marks a new chapter in the company’s history as it now has a full range of fibre laser cutting equipment onsite. The plant now consists of two Bystronic fibre lasers with a maximum capacity of 4m by 2m and three press brakes, including two Bystronic Xpert models capable of pressing up to 4m and 320 tonnes.
