Ward Hi-Tech will use MACH 2010 to showcase a number of new products from its turning and machining centre ranges as well focusing on added value services such as its Wardsure extended warranty scheme – providing up to seven years warranty cover and extended credit arrangements with a ‘Buy Now Pay 2011' finance offer on all stock CNC lathes and machining centres. Three turning centres from Hwacheon, Korea's largest independent machine tool builder will be demonstrated during the exhibition. Featuring twin 8 inch chucks, the T2-YSMC 8-axis driven tool turning centre with twin turret Y-axis and twin spindles will headline the display and will be exhibited complete with magazine bar loader and lights out automatic running package. The machine is equipped with automatic tool setting/breakage detect probing, automatic parts catcher and full parts unloader conveyor. It has powerful direct drive 20kW main drive motors to both spindles and fast indexing servo turrets with 7.5kW driven tool drive motor. The small footprint Hwacheon Cutex 200MC 2-axis turning centre is based on a true 45º slant bed construction and features rapid traverse rates of 36m/minute. As standard the machine is supplied complete with 8 inch chuck (51mm bar), hydraulic tailstock, quick tool setter and 12 station servo driven turret giving a high speed tool index time of 0.15 seconds. Weighing 16 tons, the Hwacheon Hi-Tech 700 slant bed CNC lathe is a heavy-duty performer and a heavily ribbed slant bed, torque tube design ensures rigidity even under the heaviest cutting loads. The machine features a twin range transmission, 50hp (60hp option) main motor, 12 station turret with 20 tonnes clamping force, heavy-duty programmable tailstock and thermally stabilised spindle with C-axis control. Dah Lih has been supplying vertical and horizontal machining centres throughout the UK for almost 30 years and at MACH 2010, Ward Hi-Tech will display two models from its product range. The latest addition to the family – the MCV-860 vertical machining centre – provides rugged machining ability without sacrificing speed and performance. Rapid traverse rates of 40m/minute in all axes, 8,000rpm maximum spindle speed range that can be increased to 15,000rpm and a direct drive spindle package with high acceleration and deceleration rates enable the machine to be used in a variety of applications. The second model – the MCV-102BA – features include axis travels of 1,020mm, 550mm x 560mm (XYZ), BT 40 spindle, 1,300mm by 660mm table and direct drive 15hp wide power motor. In common with all Dah Lih models the MCV-102BA is equipped with high pressure through spindle coolant, an effective bed wash and chip auger removal system, table mounted tool set/breakage detection probe, fourth axis interface, air and wash gun and spindle refrigeration unit. From Korean manufacturer HNK, Ward Hi-Tech will showcase the 30 tonne, 3-axis VTC 16/20 vertical lathe which benefits from driven tools, a rigid two piece column and base construction ensuring stable machining capability. The machine has precision C-axis control to the table, high accuracy linear scale feedback on each axis and a live spindle with 25hp drive providing powerful driven tool performance. Complementing the line-up on the Ward Hi-Tech stand will be the Maxxmill 500 5-axis VMC from Italian manufacturer Famup. The moving column vertical machining centre is the latest model to be introduced in the Famup economy range and features a 600mm by 600mm tilting and rotating table arrangement that provides a large working area. From South Korean machine tool manufacturer Kiheung, the KNCU1000-3100 bed type universal milling machine will be new at MACH. It has axis travels of 3100mm x 1,250mm x 1,050mm (XYZ), a powerful 38kW main drive motor and Heidenhain high precision linear scales on all axes. It is fitted with an automatic positioning universal head and high pressure through spindle coolant system. Ward Hi-Tech
