Easyfairs, the organiser of the Advanced Engineering show has reported that the Performance Metals Engineering Zone is 90% full with only three stands remaining.

With companies such as Leonardo Helicopters and Bentley Motors participating at the show, the Performance Metals Engineering zone has already attracted leading names from the industry including Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK and BAE Systems who will be looking to meet and do business with other industry individuals.

The show has many new features this year: a dedicated zone for industry 4.0, Connected Manufacturing; an expanded zone for start-ups sponsored by Magna International; and a brand new co-locating show, Lab Innovations, for laboratory manufacturers and suppliers.

Advanced Engineering 2017 is also pleased to also announce a competition to all exhibitors with prizes for those who bring the most visitors to the 2017 event through registering using their trackable link. The two exhibitors bringing the most visitors will win a free 6m² stand at the 2018 show and a free full-page advert in the show guide.

Visitors to the zone will see cutting edge technology and materials – in fact everything that is needed in today’s performance materials industry, including: processes for casting, extrusion, forging, joining and sheet and tube forming; and powder metallurgy; friction drilling equipment; manufacturing techniques; metals heat treatment; testing and characterisation of metals; and electrochemical and power beam processes.

The demand for lightweight and high-performance metals is continually growing across many industries. The UK metals sector comprises more than 11,000 companies, employing 230,000 people directly and is responsible for a further 750,000 jobs outside of these positions.

Alison Willis, industrial divisional director at Easyfairs, said: “The demand for performance metals is growing at a fantastic rate, and the Performance Metals Engineering zone is the place to be to see the latest technological developments. These are revolutionising a raft of markets, from planes, trains and automobiles, through to oil and gas; benefitting millions of people worldwide who consume these products – which means practically everyone on the planet.

“And the industry shows no sign of slowing down,” she added. “This year, as in previous years, we will welcome thousands of visitors and exhibitors whose businesses are in performance metals engineering.”

Organised by Easyfairs, the Performance Metals Engineering Show, which is one of five zones of Advanced Engineering 2017, takes place from 1-2 November at the NEC Birmingham.

It is the UK's largest annual gathering of performance metals engineering professionals and connects the entire supply chain of the UK’s advanced engineering industry with R&D, design, test, production and procurement from large and small companies, through to top tier industry players in a two-day free to attend exhibition and high-level conference programme.

Advanced Engineering 2017 includes four other co-located zones under one roof: Aero Engineering, Composites Engineering, Automotive Engineering - and new for 2017, Connected Manufacturing which focuses on Industry 4.0.
