Bentley launches apprenticeship recruitment drive

Bentley Motors has launched its 2023 apprenticeship programme, announcing 37 new apprenticeship vacancies to coincide with the launch of National Apprenticeship Week.

Opportunities are now available for future talent to join the luxury car brand, based at Bentley’s carbon neutral ‘Dream Factory’ in Crewe.

The recruitment drive intends to accelerate the brand’s Beyond100 strategy, the boldest plan of its kind in the automotive sector, to deliver a brand new fully electric model range by 2030.

With a strong emphasis on electrical systems competence, digital software technology knowledge and project management skills, the new cohort will help drive Bentley’s ambitious future. Roles will be based at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe with the option of a blend of onsite and remote hybrid working.

Dr. Karen Lange, member of the board for human resources at Bentley Motors, commented: “Extraordinary people and products have always been at the heart of our business, and now is such an exciting time to join Bentley as we transform our entire operations in the coming years towards the electric era. Our new recruits will help underline our ambitions and shape the company, designing and creating the true epitome of sustainable luxury mobility.”

As a Bentley apprentice, colleagues will work beside some of brightest minds in the automotive industry while studying towards a recognised higher educational qualification. Applicants will have the choice between a level 2: GCSE, level 3: BTEC / A level, level 4/5: HNC/HND Foundation degree and level 6: Bachelor’s degree qualification for the intermediate, advanced, higher and degree apprenticeship schemes respectively.

Commenting on his experiences as an apprentice, Zakaria El-Shanti, degree apprentice in new model feasibility at Bentley Motors, said: “The apprenticeship programme appealed to me as it was an opportunity to learn a skill while gaining a qualification at the end of my four-year degree with the option to apply for a permanent position at the end of the programme.

“Although Bentley Motors is an international luxury car manufacturer, the work environment makes you feel like you are part of a family organisation with the freedom to express your opinions and questions. As a university student first, a healthy work and university life balance is encouraged and you will always feel supported with plenty of trust, space and time which will enable you to learn better, grow smarter and succeed. It has truly been an invaluable experience”

Earlier this year, the company was awarded Top Employer status for the twelfth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute which recognises global employers who make every effort to continually improve the standard of work for its colleagues.
