At MACH Ajax Machine Tools is celebrating its 75^th year in business by exhibiting its AJV550 machining centre, the Interactive CNC milling machine and also its Evolution CNC lathe.

Ajax will be keen to demonstrate the benefits of its milling line with the AJV550 machining centre. This capable machining will prove ideal for subcontract manufacturers with its spacious travel of 550mm x 400mm x 500mm in X-, Y- and Z-axes respectively. Complete with a 16 position automatic toolchanger and the latest Heidenhain TNC CNC system, this user friendly CNC control can generate canned cycles, accept ISO code programming and work in conjunction with offline feeds from CAD/CAM systems.

Incorporating high-end drives and guideways, the Ajax AJV550 delivers precision and speed with its 36m rapids. When combined with the BT40 spindle configuration, it offers impressive stock removal rates, productivity and precision.

For manufacturers interested in machine tools with greater human interaction, Ajax will be introducing its Interactive CNC mill which incorporates a Fagor 8055 conversational control with simplistic programming options.

The fully interactive teach control is suitable for a machine shop that demands the flexibility of a manual machine shop combined with productivity levels of a CNC facility. The Interactive Mill is also supplied with Ajax's AJCBM 720 Interactive R8 spindle that allows end users to efficiently and productively machine parts within the large travels of 720mm x 380mm x 500mm (X, Y, Z), all starting at a competitive price of £19,950.
