John Huntingdon, managing director of Turbex, said that this year’s biennial Surface World Live show, held in March 2017 at the Birmingham NEC, was the best since 2009 in terms of the number of high quality sales leads generated.

The company was promoting its top- and front-loading spray washers, benchtop and floorstanding ultrasonic machines and precision cleaning and drying equipment with basket rotation and flood wash options, alongside the Galvatek range of surface treatment lines that it has marketed in the UK since 2014.

Mr Huntingdon commented: “Particularly encouraging was the large number of new people we met. 80% of our visitors were from companies that are not currently customers and even from firms that already use our equipment, staff that we had not previous dealt with came onto our stand.”

Many of the enquiries were for Galvatek’s multi-stage lines for anodising, chemical cleaning, etching, phosphating and passivation. The manufacturer is well known in the aerospace sector, as its equipment is widely used in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector as well as in factories manufacturing aircraft parts, including for aero engines. Turnkey solutions are supplied complete with waste water purification and recycling.
