CBI responds to Boris Johnson’s Coronavirus contingency plans

Britain’s largest business organisation, the CBI has responded to the contingency plans set out by the UK Government in response to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Josh Hardie, CBI deputy director-general, commented: “Public health must come first and while the plan is clearly sobering, it lays out a set of sensible measures that people and businesses will find helpful if the virus spreads.

“Every business will face their own challenges on how to respond to this situation. Firms will continue to follow official public health and Government guidance. The CBI will support business across the country by continuing to provide information and share best practice.

“Everyone is watching how this unfolds and employers will do all they can to inform and protect their staff and customers.”
