Bowers Metrology acquires Baty International

Bowers Metrology has announced the acquisition of Baty International.

Leading bore gauge manufacturer and provider of precision measuring solutions, Bowers Metrology, has announced its acquisition of privately held, Baty International, an established designer and manufacturer of optical-based measuring instruments and gauging products.

This acquisition will enable Bowers to build on Baty's existing position in the non-contact, vision-based measurement systems market.

Steve White, chief executive of the Bowers Metrology Group, stated: “Our strategic acquisition of Baty International will further expand Bowers' leadership position in the metrology marketplace while strengthening customer relationships. We will be able to significantly expand our vision-based measurement systems product line as well as complement our existing bore gauge and micrometer ranges. We are excited about the opportunity to leverage one of the broadest portfolios of vision-based measuring solutions, along with one of the most well-known brand names, in order to enhance our market position.”

“This is a great strategic move for Baty and I am excited about what we can now achieve from within the Bowers organisation,” added Geoff Jackson, managing director of Baty International. “Both companies are committed to providing the highest levels of product quality, customer service and technical expertise and I am sure the combined teams will be a powerful force in the metrology marketplace.”
