Bystronic UK appoints new service manager

Bystronic UK has announced the appointment of Anthony Barker as its new service manager.

Mr Barker brings with him experience and knowledge gained from working across various industries. His background is in electrical engineering but he has worked in a number of sectors including nuclear, aerospace, automotive, medical and machine tools.

He served as a marine engineer in the Royal Navy for 14 years and has worked alongside some of the world’s largest engineering manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce Aerospace, GE Power, Siemens and AVIC amongst others.

Career progression has led Mr Barker into several other roles, with spells as a service engineer, technical support engineer and product specialist. His last role before joining Bystronic was as a national service manager supporting manufacturing operations from companies such as Bentley, Aston Martin, and Jaguar Land Rover.

“My previous roles and experience have enabled me to have a holistic view of the dynamics of a service department,” Mr Barker explained. “As service manager for Bystronic, my aim is to lead and support the department in providing our customers with a class leading partner.

“After all, for the client, this is a minimum customer expectation in return for a significant investment in capital equipment. With world class service support, the same customers can expect returns on their investment not only initially but in the years to follow.

“Exemplary service is nurtured through hard work, dedication and an intrinsic desire to provide continuous improvement to the customer experience,” he concluded.
