Customer award for Doncasters Bramah

Doncasters Bramah, part of global precision engineering group Doncasters Group is celebrating after receiving an award for supplier excellence.

GKN Aerospace presented Doncasters Bramah with its Innovation and Lean award as part of its annual supplier awards programme. The award recognises the service that Doncasters Bramah provides GKN, as well as significant value delivered through its contract supplying titanium four way air bleed ducts for one of GKN's key Airbus A380 programmes.

Damon Harvie, general manager at Doncasters Bramah, said: “We're delighted that GKN has recognised the quality of service provided by the team at Bramah and the hard work that has gone into ensuring we exceed customer expectations at every level.

“In competitive markets, delivering 100% on time with no quality issues is no longer good enough. By carrying out a value stream mapping exercise and working closely with GKN's own team, we were able to identify areas where we could add real value and help GKN achieve its own demanding targets.”

Rob Soen, senior vice president supply chain management, at GKN Aerospace, added: “Developing strong relationships with key suppliers, such as Doncasters is essential to our ongoing success. The team at Doncasters Bramah works closely with our engineers and the results of this close working relationship are now there for all to see. I'm delighted we've been able to recognise Doncasters' achievement in this way and look forward to developing the partnership over years to come.”

Tarek Maguid, global supply chain integration and continuous improvement director at Doncasters, concluded: “This award is fantastic news for the Doncasters Group and demonstrates precisely the kind of results that can be achieved through a commitment to Lean thinking and exceeding customer expectations. I'm confident it will be the first of many for the team.”
