Doncasters signs major contract to expand aerospace part supply

Doncasters has signed an agreement with Safran Aircraft Engines to renew and expand the supply of large superalloy structural castings and hot section air flow castings for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B platforms.

This contract extension reflects the strong and developing partnership between Doncasters and Safran Aircraft Engines, covering both precision investment castings and superalloy supply.

This agreement will take advantage of the significant state-of-the-art capital investments currently being made across Doncasters to grow capacity, and is also expected to form a framework from which to develop the relationship further over the coming years.

Doncasters CEO, Mike Quinn, said: “We are delighted to have reached agreement on this portfolio with Safran AE which is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of all of our employees. Safran AE is considered to be a key strategic partner to us and we look forward to continuing to support them with the supply of high quality product.”

A spokesman for Safran added: "We are very satisfied to renew and expand our long-term agreement with Doncasters. Doncasters will remain a strategic supplier on the Leap Program for the years to come."
