The Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS) is a new £12 million employer-led training facility for the Black Country, designed to enhance productivity in the region’s high value manufacturing sector. Made in the Midlands sat down with Ian Fitzpatrick to learn more about the centre, its aim to train 450 apprentices over the next 5 years and how the ECMS will provide specialist training to upskill the current and future workforce, helping to close skills gaps identified by employers.
