Finishing touches

Redditch, Worcester-based Accurate Cutting Services has been appointed as UK agent for Sinico Machine Tools.

Sinico specialises in the design and manufacture of automatic rotary transfer cut-off and end finishing machines suitable for producing medium to large runs of metal parts in a wide range of materials from tubes, bars, coils, forgings and blanks. Precision, cut-to-length solid bar and tube, plus simultaneous double end multi-operation machining can be achieved across a range of Sinico CNC machines with capacities from 5mm to 120mm diameter and length ranges from 20mm to 2,000mm. Sinico has been supplying machines to the UK for more than 20 years and is well established in the volume production industries of automotive components, heavy duty construction equipment, building, domestic appliance components and general engineering. An example of an automotive installation is at Hagon in East London, which use a Sinico machine to manufacture a range of shock absorber components comprising: cylinders, produced in 7.6 seconds from 6m steel tube at 400 parts/hour; rods, produced in 10 seconds from 6m steel bar at 306 parts/hour; and heads produced in 56 seconds from 6m steel bar at 57 parts/hour Bar and tube in 4m, 6m or 8m lengths can be loaded to a magazine that feeds the
material automatically into the first stage of the process which involves cutting to length with circular HSS or tungsten carbide blades. The cut piece is transferred automatically by a high speed rotary indexing turret to simultaneous double end machining operations that can range from a basic face and chamfer through to turn, bore, drill, tap and threading operations. Tooling for all operations is via the Sinico quick change system and all CNC machine settings can be made through the Siemens touchscreen. Accurate Cutting Services
