The time is rapidly approaching for the start of Advanced Engineering, the UKs largest annual gathering of engineering and manufacturing professionals, with the trade show taking place on November 1 and 2, 2023 at the NEC, Birmingham.
This years’ event will reveal a host of products and technologies and has several industry-leading speakers confirmed across a variety of sectors, including aerospace, composites, automotive, space and satellite, marine, defence and security, rail and more. Exhibitors can also expect to see the implementation of brand-new sustainability initiatives, and a brand new app that is designed to help foster new connections effectively amidst thousands of attendees.
Advanced Engineering 2023 exhibition promises a showcase of cutting-edge innovations and collaborative efforts from leading industry players. Several well-known companies have registered to attend the show, one of which includes ThrustWSH that is showing off its groundbreaking boat prototype in collaboration with PRF Composites, having set the world land speed record.
Elsewhere, MGI Engineering will showcase its path to net-zero by displaying its latest technologies, from F1 cars to eVTOL drones, while Cyclopic is set to reveal clean-tech solutions, introducing centerless wheel technology. As for material science, the University of Manchester's advanced manufacturing experts will be there to highlight graphene's extraordinary properties, and Gravitilab Aerospace Services is presenting a patented drop pod for unique microgravity environments.
Along with what can be seen at the show, Advanced Engineering is also setting up a range of forums and a new main stage. These forums will feature industry leaders discussing crucial topics like supply chain management, innovation, digitalisation and sustainability.
This will be spread across the two days, with day one featuring speakers such as Richard Noble, OBE, former land speed record holder, and Eman Martin-Vignerte, Director of External Affairs and Government Relations at Bosch, who will shed light on digitalisation and automation. Then, in the afternoon, there will be a women in manufacturing panel, followed by a discussion from a Make UK representative on how new industrial technologies are affecting the skilled workforce.
On day two, Make UK is delivering the opening keynote ahead of Made in Britain discussing innovation in British engineering and design. A panel on women in composites will subsequently follow, along with two competitions on the main stage throughout the day — the Enabling Innovation competition in the morning and the SAMPE Design and Make competition in the afternoon.
Each forum offers an opportunity to interact with industry leaders, from aerospace giants like Rolls-Royce to composite innovators and automotive technology experts such as Silverstone Technology Cluster. Whether it's about digitally enabled supply chains or on the future of composites, attendees have an opportunity to gain valuable industry insights.
