The Open Mind Technologies stand at MACH 2010 was awash with activity as the company gave UK debuts to a number of new developments such as its hyperMILL 2009.2 system with CAD integrated solutions for Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, thinkdesign and its own hyperCAD package.

Alongside this was the recently introduced intelligent functionality for the hyperCAD 2009.1 package.

The new hyperMILL 2009.2 release also allows users of various CAD platforms to access the full range of functions of hyperMILL 2009.1. The highlights include an optimised fast travel concept, job linking, an improved tool database, an extended job list as well as transformation and mirroring functions.

To highlight the capabilities of the various Open Mind packages available, the company exhibited a number of demonstration pieces produced with its CAM solutions. Examples included the Beru ‘Factor 001' Bike – built by Beru F1 systems, a Norfolk based company that supplies Formula 1 teams. The £20,000 crowd pleaser was on the stand next to an Ilmor V4 800cc racing motorcycle capable of running at Formula 1 speeds. Both bikes utilised Open Mind's hyperMILL in production.

Open Mind UK's managing director, Adrian Smith observed: “MACH far exceeded our expectations with a remarkably high lead count. Brand awareness and general interest in our products also proved to be very positive.”
