West Midlands-based engineering subcontractor,
The first is a Wilkins Verson 600 ton mechanical press with a bed area of 3,650mm by 2,250mm and the second is a Correa Anayak vertical machining centre with a machining capacity of 2,000mm x 1,000mm x 1,000m.
“In November 2008, we installed our first large machining centre, which has a capacity of 4,000mm x 2,000mm and this machine opened new doors for us in terms of capability,” explained director Paul Riley. “We regularly manufacture large scale progression and transfer tools which need to be proven before shipment to our customer.
By installing the press we can now accommodate the majority of tooling requirements from our UK and European customers.”
He continued: “To satisfy our customers' demands for a speedy turnaround of new and modified existing tooling we needed to offer the complete service. The company is still growing even in these uncertain times and we strive to be the best in all areas – knowledge, technology, capacity and service.
“Lodent is still investing, at a time when most of the UK toolmaking industry is contracting. Our investment stands us in good stead for the future and allows us to remain competitive globally.”
