During a recent work experience program, Mr Green demonstrated an aptitude for mechanical engineering and he has now been rewarded with an opportunity to transfer this into workplace experience over the next four years as the new machine shop apprentice. Upon completion of his four year apprenticeship, Tyler will combine shop floor training with day-release academic qualifications to become a fully trained CNC machinist.
ITC has a history of purchasing the very latest machine tool and production technology, often being one of the first companies in the UK to install next generation equipment. Employing this strategy and purchasing an average of two new machines every year, Mr Green has an opportunity to train on the latest advanced technology.
Marketing manager Georgia Graves commented: “By continually employing new apprentices, ITC is certainly contributing to training the next generation of engineer whilst bringing creative new ideas, enthusiasm and youth to our forward thinking business. Bringing teenagers into our business and giving them a career path and an advanced precision engineering qualification fills both ITC and the apprentices with immense pride.
“Some of our previous apprentices are on a career path with our company that is fulfilling our long-term business objectives whilst providing a challenging and exciting career path for staff. At ITC, we are forever evolving. Whether it’s our product development, adopting new methodologies and strategies or purchasing the very latest machine tool technology; ITC is a fantastic company to work for and our high level of employee retention qualifies this.”
