The new series is the result of extensive R&D that has seen the Tamworth-based cutting tool specialist work closely with customers to design a range of tooling that is said to deliver excellent metal removal rates.
The new four flute solid carbide 4041 series has a square end with corner chamfer to prevent chipping, which enhances tool life when conducting heavy cutting operations.
Designed to deliver high performance when machining aerospace and motorsport grade alloys and steels, the 4041 series has a dynamic geometry with a short flute length and unequal flute spacing, which claims to reduce machining noise by eliminating the harmonic effect. It also enhances metal removal rates significantly whilst the short flute length complements the dissipation of the harmonic effect by increasing the rigidity of the series.
With increased rigidity and efficient flute geometry the 4041 series can conduct deep cutting at high feeds and speeds whilst delivering good surface finishes. The capability to machine difficult to cut materials at high speeds and feeds and long depths of cut provides end users with an opportunity for performance and productivity gains.
Produced from wear resistant micro grain carbide that is AlTiN coated, the 4041 Cyber series is available in 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm diameters with the same shank diameter and a respective 7mm, 8mm, 11mm, 13mm, 15mm length of cut. The right hand helix series with centre cutting has an overall length from 38mm to 55mm with the 4mm, 6mm and 8mm diameter having a chamfer of 0.4mm whilst the 10mm and 12mm cutters have a 0.5mm chamfer.
