XYZ at Autosport International

Continuing development is the basis for XYZ Machine Tools' belief that when it comes to cutting metal, especially in prototype and low volume applications, it offers a cost-effective and competitive route to increasing productivity, reducing costs and combating skills shortages.

The Burlescombe, Devon-based company's portfolio ranges from manual and CNC/manual machine tools through to large capacity CNC bridge mills and extra large (up to 16m between centres) CNC lathes, all backed by a full warranty and nationwide service and support.

On stand E1129 at Autosport Engineering 2012 will be a 5hp variable speed (40-5,000rpm) XYZ ProtoTRAK SMX 3500 bed mill; a 7.5hp/50-4,000rpm XYZ ProTURN SLX 355 lathe; a 20hp/5,000rpm Compact Turn 52 turning centre; and a 20hp 5-8,000rpm XYZ 710 VMC vertical machining centre. The two ProtoTRAK-equipped CNC/manual machine tools feature the latest generation version of the easy-to-program control, while the full CNC CT 52 and 710 VMC are equipped with the new Siemens 828D conversational control.

Featuring ShopMill/ShopTurn sequence programming, the Siemens 828D CNC can be programmed easily without any G-coding knowledge. Programming can also be conducted offline using CAD/CAM or other applications.
XYZ's extensive customer base includes engineering businesses involved at every level of motorsport, from small subcontracting companies to F1 teams.
