Making a stand

Mach 2010 continues loom on the distant horizon and the MTA reports that sales of stand space is going well with 80% sold and a second exhibiting company taking its largest ever stand at the event.

Machine tool company Mills CNC, has booked 500m² of exhibition space at the event taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 7-11 June 2010. The exclusive UK distributor of Doosan machine tools has chosen a prime location in Hall 5 and joins Ward CNC as the second company booking their largest ever stand.

Nick Frampton, Mills' managing director explained why larger stand space was chosen. “Mach is an important event in our calendar and is a focal point for the company's continuing growth and success,” he revealed. “I am confident that the Doosan machines we will be exhibiting at the event will pull in the crowds and will further consolidate and substantiate our position as being one of the UK's fastest growing machine tool companies.”

Displayed on the Mills CNC stand will be lathes, turning centres, machining centres and multi-axis mill/turn machines, but pride of place goes to the new VC630 5-AX – a high-performance 5-axis machining centre making its debut at the show and the first ever Doosan 5-axis machine available to precision manufacturers in the UK and Ireland.

Graham Shearsmith, exhibition manager for Mach 2010 commented: “Whilst stands are 80% sold there are still some excellent prime exhibiting spaces still available in both Halls 4 and 5. Demand for stand space has been at a volume that we would never have expected earlier this year and is an encouraging sign that manufacturing technologies and engineering-based manufacturing is still very much alive and kicking in the UK. A fully booked Mach 2010 would certainly present a positive picture of manufacturing to the outside world.”
