Outstanding employee engagement recognised at MSC

MSC Industrial Supply (MSC) has been recognised for its outstanding levels of employee engagement after being awarded a two-star accreditation in the prestigious 2020 Best Companies scheme.

The award is the second-highest endorsement a company can receive in the Best Companies survey which measures workplace engagement. The process the survey uses powers the ‘Best Companies to Work for’ list published by The Sunday Times. As well as the outstanding rating, MSC has been awarded a place in the top 75 best companies to work for in the midlands region.

‘Built to make you better’ is MSC’s goal to drive results for its customers through retooling, rethinking and optimising for a more productive tomorrow. Achieving this goal lies at the heart of its culture. MSC strongly believes its employees are its greatest asset and is committed to continually providing an environment that is inspiring and meaningful.

The company says having a culture that is based on trust – and an empowered environment where learning, innovation and exceptional customer service are second nature – is what makes MSC an engaging workplace where employees feel valued.

40% of MSC’s 250 employees have more than five years of service – a testament to the culture inside the company.

In a recent survey, MSC’s customers rated the company as very easy to do business with, which further underlines its commitment to developing and maintaining a happy and engaged workforce that is passionate about servicing its customers to the highest standards.

Dave Darby, managing director at MSC, said: “We are delighted to learn that our unwavering commitment to providing a supportive environment and developing and retaining an engaged and fulfilled workforce has been recognised with this outstanding Best Companies accreditation.

“Our people are, without a doubt, our most important asset and therefore fundamental to our success. Building a company culture that inspires, encourages and supports every employee is something we are very proud of. As a result, our people go above and beyond in pursuit of excellence every day, which is frequently highlighted in the feedback we receive from our customers.”
