On the turn

The next Simodec international machine tool show will be held from 2-6 March 2010 at the heart of the French Alps, in la Roche-sur-Foron.

Simodec is a biennial exhibition that made its international debut in 1954, focusing on Swiss type lathes and other multi-tasking machining equipment. The 2008 event attracted 275 exhibitors, 20% of whom were from outside France, covering a number of metalcutting disciplines including machine tools, tooling, automation, robotics, metrology, raw materials and services. 551 different brands were represented at the event.

A total of 14,900 visitors attended from 51 different countries which was a marked increase of 11% on the 2006 show. Although the majority of new attendees came from France, the number of overseas visitors – predominantly from Italy, Germany, Spain, Eastern Europe, the USA and the UK, also increased.

Taking place at the Parc des Expositions, La Roche-sur-Furon, the show will occupy some 24,000m² of floor space and will feature a number of topical seminars and conferences.
