Pietro Carnaghi to be represented in the UK

Engineering Technology Group has reached agreement to represent the UK sales and service support operations for Pietro Carnaghi.

Founded in 1922, Pietro Carnaghi produces large vertical lathes and gantry type milling machines, supplying not just the machine tools but the advanced machining technologies and automation necessary to optimise the machines in customers’ manufacturing plants. These include FMS cells and workpiece loading/unloading systems.

Today, third and fourth generation Carnaghi family members remain active in the management of the company which, since 2009, has been based in a 55,000m² production plant located in Villa Cortese, Milan.

“This is a groundbreaking agreement for ETG as it moves us into new territory in terms of the physical size of the machines Carnaghi can supply along with creating wider market opportunities,” explained ETG Group managing director Martin Doyle.

“Notwithstanding, we are well resourced to meet the challenge and many members of our sales, service and maintenance teams have experience of Carnaghi type machines.”

Carnaghi is a company geared for overseas trading with 90% of its production exported from Italy to world markets each year. It has a production capacity of about 40 machines per year, with thousands of successful installations all over the world.

Main application fields of Pietro Carnaghi customers are aeronautics (jet engines), aerospace, mining and construction and power generation including gas, steam and hydro-electrical turbines as well as nuclear and wind energy.
