Q8Oils extends and rebrands its technical support for metalworking fluids

Q8Oils has enhanced its package of technical support for metalworking fluid customers and brought together all its services under the new QCare brand.

Q8Oils has enhanced its package of technical support for metalworking fluid customers and brought together all its services under the new QCare brand.

Matt Bloomer, technical services manager at Q8Oils, explained “Q8Oils manufactures some of the finest metalworking fluids on the market, but we recognise that excellent technical support is essential to get the most out of our products. QCare is a range of support services designed to help our customers use our products in complete safety, maximise efficiency and save costs – we call it a smart solution.”

He continued: “We had found that many people are unaware of Q8Oils’ extensive range of technical services. We have therefore launched a communications campaign to raise awareness of QCare and make it clear what we offer.”

As part of its technical support, Q8Oils is placing greater emphasis on fluid management and offering guidance in the safe use of metalworking fluids. This follows growing awareness of the hazards associated with working with metalworking fluids and the launch last year by the Health & Safety Executive of a proactive inspection programme.

Q8Oils experts can advise employers on how to comply fully with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations to protect their workers and offers tailored, onsite training seminars on safety.

The company has also introduced a new service to supply metalworking equipment, from mixing units to fluid recycling systems. Mr Bloomer commented: “Using the right equipment can make a big difference to processes and help reduce costs and waste generation. It was therefore a logical step for us to offer high-quality equipment as an additional service.”

Ensuring the continuous high performance of its metalworking fluids is an important part of Q8Oils’ technical service so it offers customers a free audit of fluid quality in the machine and delivers the results on site. If further analysis is needed, a fluid sample can be sent to a laboratory with advanced testing facilities for further evaluation under Q8Oils’ Used Oil Test Analysis (QUOTA) service. In each case, Q8 specialists explain the results and recommend any action needed.
