Q8Oils’ Sakar Pradhan wins award

Sakar Pradhan, 25, of Q8Oils has been named Young Employee of the Year at the UKLA (United Kingdom Lubricants Association) annual awards.

The accolade celebrates the young employee who has demonstrated commitment to the UK lubricants industry and their respective employers.

He was presented with the award at the UKLA Annual Dinner in London at the beginning of November. Attended by around 300 of the industry’s most influential people, this is one of the most prestigious events in the lubricants calendar.

Mr Pradhan works at Q8Oils’ UK head office in Leeds. He first worked for the company on placement, while studying for a marketing degree at the University of Huddersfield. Joining full-time after graduating in 2015, he has progressed to lead Q8Oils’ marketing activities in the UK.

Alongside his full-time role, he is studying for a Masters in digital marketing leadership at the University of Aberdeen.

Neil Grieve, country manager UK for Q8Oils, who nominated Mr Pradhan for the award, commented: “We are delighted that Sakar has won. He is very committed and always willing to go the extra mile. As well as launching Q8Oils’ social platforms, he has developed lead generation activities that directly contribute to our high volume of sales. His extra studies are typical of his drive to improve himself and add value to our business.”

Mr Pradhan added: “I am honoured to receive such an important award. I’ve received fantastic support from my team at Q8Oils, which has helped me grow and develop in my short time in the industry. I am eager to keep learning and am working towards achieving UKLA’s Certificate of Lubricant Competence.”

David Wright, director general for UKLA said: “The Young Employee of the Year Award recognises outstanding talent in our sector and rewards future industry leaders who are so vital to ensuring the continued success of the lubricants sector.

“This year the category attracted a significant number of entries from a diverse range of applicants each with their own talents and abilities, but the Board were fervent in their decision to recognise Sakar Pradhan’s outstanding contribution to Q8’s success.”

UKLA is the lubricant industry’s leading trade organisation. It represents members’ interests internationally through consultation and lobbying, and provides support, training and networking events.
