Quality assured

92% of the Control Exhibtion's 2009 participants have already signed up to do it all again.

Schall Group, organiser of the yearly Control exhibition taking place across four halls of the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 4-7 May 2010 has announced that 92% of the show's 2009 participants have already signed up to do it all again.

Billed as ‘the international trade fair for quality assurance' the event will feature exhibitors from across the spectrum of inspection technologies, including measuring technology, material testing, analysis apparatus, optoelectronics, quality assurance systems and organisation.

The largest of four Control events taking place this year (with national events also taking place in France, Italy and China), a key aim for this year's show is to achieve greater knowledge dissemination through its presentation of international offerings for new quality assurance technologies, products, sub-systems and complete solutions in a consistent fashion, making them available to a broad range of user groups.

As part of this strategy, Control will continue to partner with the Franhofer IPA and Fraunhofer-Allianz Vision institutions, with the former organising the event forum, entitled ‘Energy Efficiency in Production'. The forum will be broken down into two specific modules: a ‘Practical Presentation Forum' and an ‘Empirical Special Show' and is designed to provide an up to date, user orientated framework within the overarching event theme of ‘understanding and experiencing technology'. A whole range of topics will be discussed, with sessions relevant to end users, researchers, developers and manufacturers of sensor technology.

Fraunhofer-Allianz Vision will again be presenting its ‘Contactless Measuring Technology' innovation show, with the aim of broadening the acceptance of these technologies by demonstrating specific design principles, characteristics and the limitations of products currently on the market.

These elements will also be supplemented by the exhibition's exhibitor forum, where visitors will be able to gather all of the information required for making their investment decisions. There will also be specific themed areas for topics such as research and training and microsystems technology and well as an application park.

A further attraction will be the announcement of the winner of the third annual Baden-Württemberg Award for Competence in Innovation and Quality, given to a company within the German state that can demonstrate outstanding achievement. Last year's award was won by Neuhausen-based sensor technology company, Balluff GmbH, for its long standing position as a market leader and high levels of product quality assurance.

As for the exhibition itself, now that the industry can see a light at the end of the economic tunnel, the organiser will hope to build on last year's 900 exhibitors from 24 countries and over 18,800 expert visitors coming from over 60 different countries, with 145 new products using the event as a launch platform.
