As a profile cutting specialist, sheetmetal fabricator and enclosure manufacturer ICEE makes regular business investments to enhance its portfolio of services and drive continuous improvement and efficiencies into its operations and processes.
The most recent wave of investment has seen the company purchase a fibre laser to complement its existing waterjet cutting machine and update its inspection capability through a Faro Fusion Arm.
The arm will allow ICEE to provide accurate first article and periodic inspection with data and certification produced via Aberlink software. The device also allows for reverse engineering which will enable ICEE to create a drawing from a physical part, using the arm to capture detail to create a DXF drawing.
Measuring arms enable the precise 3D measurement of both large and small parts in production. In terms of accuracy, they are on par with large CMMs – but with the added benefit of being portable – ideal for ICEE's requirements. ICEE
