R. A. Rodriguez will be exhibiting at Advanced Engineering 2018, featuring the Grob LinearChain that provides a compact solution for both pulling and pushing a load.

Push-pull actuation using chain is commonplace in theatre engineering where the loads are exceptionally high. Reciprocal chain movement remained unique to this sector until LinearChain was developed to extend the scope of the concept.

The chain on this innovative system has a special profile with interlocking fingers that allows it to become a rigid thrust device for pushing a guided load, such as on a linear slide or rail. The LinearChain simply rolls up and is therefore particularly suited to applications calling for long strokes where space is at a premium. It provides high positioning accuracy, constant stroke speed and shock-free motion with no elastic hysteresis under load.

Complementing LinearChain are Framo Morat linear actuators that use powerful co-axial motors to achieve the required stroke force, using a minimum amount of space. A wide range of options enables them to be individually adapted for almost any application. And staying with the space-saving theme, Framo Morat planetary gearboxes and Compacta Slip-On geared motors will also feature.

The company is the European master distributor for Japan’s gear brand, KHK. This status allows the company to stock more products in greater volume and this, in turn, promises keen prices. In total 17,500 individual items are available in the range that broadly fall into the categories of bevel gears, mitre gears, racks, screw gears, spur gears, worms & wheels and bevel gearboxes.

The most popular of these products are also available on the company’s Gear Shop – www.rargears.com – a facility that allows customers to buy on-line for standard applications and request advice on special projects that may require gear modification.

Visitors to Advanced Engineering will also see several R. A. Rodriguez’s own-brand products that include ballscrews, acme-screws, linear guideways, precision shafts and turntable bearings.

The R. A. Rodriguez turntable bearings are available in two grades, one for light duty applications where high accuracy is not a critical factor and the other where a higher order of performance is needed for greater loads. Both are manufactured in high grade carbon steel or stainless steel and shipped, pre-lubricated and ready for use.

The company will be exhibiting at stand J41 at Advanced Engineering 2018, which runs between 31st October and 1st November.
