Renishaw to host aerospace open day at its Gloucestershire facility

Renishaw will host its aerospace themed open day on the 5th March at its facility in Gloucestershire. The event is named ‘Manufacturing in Aerospace – The Direction of Travel’.

The day aims to lead a discussion on the technology trends and innovative technologies transforming the UK aerospace industry as well as highlighting what is expected of the supply chain in order to fulfil the ever changing requirements.

Presentations during the day will include a key note address from Trevor Higgs, vice president, head of engineering, UK at Airbus on the company’s outlook and expectations of the supply chain. GKN, Rolls-Royce and Safran will present on how they are addressing current manufacturing challenges along with case studies that bring to life best practice.

Sameer Savani, head of innovation and engineering at the ADS will present on the technology trends affecting the industry as a whole. Paul Maxted, director of industrial metrology applications at Renishaw will present on Renishaw’s innovative technologies including additive manufacturing and metrology solutions that can help suppliers meet and overcome the challenges aerospace manufacturers face.

There will be opportunities for delegates to network, as well as time to discover the industry specific, live demonstrations in the Renishaw Innovation Centre along with the chance to ask questions and speak to local salesmen.
