RK International boosts presence in the south west

In a move that strengthens its external sales team, RK International Machine Tools has appointed Lisa Sheen to the role of regional sales manager for the south west of England.

The area is one that has delivered significant business for the Erith, Kent-based company without any direct representation for the past five-years. Ms Sheen’s appointment will give existing customers a direct contact while opening greater opportunities for new business to be developed.

Ms Sheen’s extensive experience in engineering consumable sales will stand her in good stead as she makes the move into capital equipment sales.

She said: “The opportunity to join RK International and make the transition from consumables to machine tool sales is exciting and a challenge that I am looking forward to. To be one of the few women working in the machine tool sales environment is also something that appealed to me and I am confident that my existing industry knowledge and enthusiasm will help in developing the south west area, where I can see huge potential for the technical products that RK International Machine Tools has available.”

Simon Rood, director and general manager, RK International Machine Tools, added: “The recent MACH 2018 exhibition was a great introduction to many existing RK International customers from her area and the enquiries generated at the show will provide an excellent foundation for her to build on the existing customer base in the south west, where we see lots of opportunities for our range of grinding machines and other capital equipment.”
