Role reversal for new XYZ recruit

Ben Warren has joined XYZ Machine Tools as area sales manager covering Oxford, down along the north of the M4 corridor and across the north west quadrant of London as far as Milton Keynes.

He brings with him extensive precision engineering industry knowledge, gained in part from running his own successful precision subcontract business. The move from buying and using machine tools to selling them is one that he is relishing.

“Having been involved with the precision engineering sector since 2001, including starting and growing my own subcontract machining business supplying complex machined parts to customers across the UK and Europe in areas such as Formula One, medical and horology,” Mr Warren recalls.

“In late 2017 I decided to take a step back, sold the business and took time out to recharge my batteries. Fully refreshed it was time to get back to work and take on new challenges which coincided with seeing the advert for this role at XYZ.”

Taking on the position of area sales manager will enable Mr Warren to reignite his involvement with precision engineering and, put his 18 years’ experience in solving engineering problems to good use by getting back face-to-face with customers.

“The big attractions to me of joining XYZ was the overall attitude of the company where you get immediate answers to questions. This combined with the extensive machine range should allow me to develop the sales area and generate strong revenue streams for the business.”

“Ben will be a valuable addition to our sales team and his experience of running his own precision engineering company will give him a fantastic insight into what customers are looking for in a machine tool and a machine tool company,” enthused Nigel Atherton, XYZ’s managing director.

“His enthusiasm for the challenges that lie ahead will ensure he hits the ground running,” he concluded.
