The sponsorship agreement means Rolls-Royce will support the Bessemer Society’s regular networking events, where ‘serial’ CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs come together to discuss the technical and creative skills required to succeed in advanced technology sectors.
Warren East, Rolls-Royce’s chief executive officer, said: “I am delighted that Rolls-Royce is sponsoring the Bessemer Society, a forum committed to developing innovative businesses.
“Innovation is crucial for all sizes of businesses and for Rolls-Royce, that means pioneering technologies that deliver clean and safe solutions to meet the world’s vital power needs. This ranges from electrification and sustainable fuel development through to compact nuclear power stations, where we’re collaborating with a variety of industrial partners including a number of small innovative businesses, to provide affordable, reliable, low carbon power.”
The Bessemer Society, named after Sir Henry Bessemer the nineteenth-century steel inventor and entrepreneur, holds over 12 networking dinners around the UK each year. Each one has a central theme with notable speakers from industry, academia and government sharing their perspectives on UK innovation and manufacturing with guests.
Alex Stewart, the Bessemer Society’s founder, said: “Rolls-Royce’s sponsorship is the ultimate endorsement of our networking activities. Having Rolls-Royce as a sponsor means our members benefit from the opportunity to share with and learn from one of the most advanced industrial technology companies in the world.”
