Fast machining of stainless steel oil and gas valves

This Seco Tools video shows the finishing of an internal turning operation of a hole. The customer wanted to finish the component without changing inserts.

Due to the thin walls, in order to secure a good roundness, the workpiece fixture could not be clamped tightly. A dial indicator was used to make sure the component didn't pull out.

With the use of Seco's plug&play Steadyline vibration bars, despite the long overhangs and the unstable conditions, the customer was able to achieve a smooth, vibration-free machining process with improved surface quality, and surface roughness Ra=1,6.
