Sights on Scotland

Horn Cutting Tools has appointed David Reekie as technical sales representative for Scotland.

Mr Reekie, who is a qualified engineer, has in-depth experience of the Scottish tooling market and has worked previously as a tooling sales engineer and in a senior position with one of Scotland's leading subcontract machinists.

According to Horn Cutting Tools' managing director, Mike Green, Mr Reekie's appointment with Horn reflects increasing demand for the company's products in the Scottish market. “We're very pleased to have David join the team,” he stated. “His established background in Scottish industry will, we anticipate, be a considerable asset.”

The Horn range has recently been expanded to include innovative new tooling specific to oil and gas industry applications as well as heavier duty derivatives of existing lines such as the M275 groove milling system. These all have potential uses in Scotland's prominent offshore engineering sector.

Mr Green added; “Having our own local presence in Scotland helps to underline our commitment to the market. It's something that we would have liked to have done before but the recent recession put it on hold. We now consider that the time is right.”

Mr Reekie will work alongside Horn's longstanding Scotland-based distributor Peter Campbell Sales to promote new and existing products. He commented. “Horn has an excellent reputation in the market but there is nevertheless major potential for growth as the company continues to develop its products. Joining at this time offers a very exciting opportunity.”
