The Queen’s Award for International Trade recognises and rewards Swift-Cut’s global success – since its launch just seven years ago it now exports over 80% of business globally and has expanded into over 35 countries.
The award was presented by HRH Duke of Gloucester to Mr Smith at its Staffordshire headquarters. In a speech made after receiving the award, Mr Smith thanked HRH Duke of Gloucester for taking time out of his schedule to attend the event. He also acknowledged the collaborative way in which Swift-Cut operates, thanking the team for its continued commitment to making Swift-Cut a global success.
Following the presentation and together with the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire in attendance, HRH Duke of Gloucester enjoyed a tour of the demonstration suite and headquarters, meeting the team and seeing the machines in action.
He was given full control of a plasma machine, pressing the button that started a metal cut – allowing him to see first-hand not only how precise the machines are but also how simple they are to operate.
