Taking control

Fanuc's product offering for MACH this year promises a range of new functions, services and support products.

For a start, the company has announced a host of new features for its Series 30i/31i/32i CNCs to provide higher productivity to its customers. These CNCs are especially suited for complex machines, like combined lathe/milling centres, 5-axis machines, and multi-spindle and transfer machines. Visitors will discover new 5-axis machining features and as well as other enhancements such as the expansion of its 3D Interference Check feature, which safeguards collision risk areas. Enhanced CNC Series 0i - Model D controls will also be exhibited. One particularly valuable new feature is Dual Check Safety, which uses the CNC's multiple processors to cross-check data to monitor safety critical parts of the machine. This enables compliance of the machine with international safety standards without the need for additional safety units. Fanuc's user friendly workshop programming Manual Guide i software has also been improved, as well as its PC-compatible software, NCGuidePro, which can be used for developing machine controls offline and for training purposes. The company's service and support offering will also be promoted with tailored contracts to fit the customers' needs and budget. As such options for optimising existing CNCs or retrofitting more effective CNCs and drives, staff training and replacement parts are all available. Fanuc Robotics (UK) will also be showcasing a variety of automation concepts demonstrating the integration of intelligent robots with machine tools. Fanuc
