Technical support at Trumpf grows in line with sales

Trumpf’s UK sales performance in the year 2016/17 matched that of the overall company.

The UK operation recorded an order intake of £57.1 million, an increase of 50% on the previous fiscal year. Preliminary operating profit is shown as £988,239.

Proven machines and systems across all Trumpf technologies continue to prove popular with UK manufacturers, with notable new additions such as the TruPrint Series for 3D printing and the TruBend Center 5030 for semi-automated bending, contributing to the total.

Managing director Annette Doyle said: “We had an unprecedented high number of new and conversion customers this year, and I am certain our focus on providing outstanding service to complement the technical competence of our machines played its part.

“Trumpf is now providing its most comprehensive package ever to ensure our customers get the best return on their investment, and we will continue to refine our service provision to ensure it is the best it can possibly be.”

The UK workforce also grew substantially in the last 12 months with technical service accounting for most of the new staff members. And with sales into 2018 forecast to remain high, recruitment is set to continue.
