Telmar CNC announces £250,000 investment in new machinery

Eastleigh, Hampshire-based Telmar CNC has recently taken delivery of another new CNC machine. In the last 18 months, the business has invested £250,000 in new machinery.

Two DN Solutions Puma lathes have been added to the workshop. The Puma 2100Y features a Y-axis so it can reduce the handling time on components with simple milling requirements. The Puma GT3100 is a bigger lathe capable of turning large diameter components.

“With these two new CNC machines we will be able to offer our existing customers more capabilities and capacity while developing new business relationships,” enthuses managing director Lucy Mould.

“In the last two years we have seen an increase in sales of 38% which has enabled us to fund investment in the latest machinery. We are a family company that values our employees; we want to retain our staff and help them to develop their skills and qualifications. Having the latest technology helps us achieve that objective.”

She continues: “This investment in new machinery has also created a further two jobs at Telmar CNC. We currently have vacancies for an experienced machinist and we now have the ability to offer a traineeship in house.”

Telmar CNC was launched in 1991 by Terry Mould and it continues to be a family-run business today. Mr Mould was succeeded by his daughter Lucy in 2012 as managing director.
