Offering specialist contact measurement services, Manchester Metrology has recently invested £700k into a range of new high-tech scanning equipment.

This is a significant investment for the company and shows Manchester Metrology’s ongoing commitment to its customers’ requirements and advancing technology. The new generation of HandySCAN Black Elite handheld scanners have been optimised to meet the needs of product development and engineering professionals on the lookout for the most effective and reliable way to acquire 3D measurements of physical objects.

Manchester Metrology has experienced rapid growth since its inception in 2008, culminating in a record turnover of £2.2 million in 2018. The company celebrated its 10th anniversary in August last year with an open day at its new 5,300ft² premises in Ashton-under-Lyne which is five times larger than its previous site.

Paul Bulman, managing director commented: “We have an experienced and committed team of people working at Manchester Metrology and over the past decade we have formed established partnerships with the top equipment suppliers. We have seen huge advancements in the metrology sector and look forward to a very exciting future.”

Now employing a total of 15 staff, with three new members to the team in 2019, and two new engineering apprentices attending Tameside College, the company is dedicated to providing training and opportunities for the younger generation to enhance their skill levels and introduce them to new roles within the metrology sector.

Manchester Metrology’s extensive client base includes global machine manufacturer JCB, engineering giant Babcock and world water speed record project Quicksilver.
